The purpose of the Carpenter Foundation is to add opportunity, choice inclusiveness, enrichment and a climate for change for those living in the Rogue Valley.  The Foundation makes grants in the areas of human service, arts, education, and public interest.  The Foundation makes grants only in Jackson and Josephine Counties.

The Robert & Frances Chaney Family Foundation strives to provide a better future for people by providing funds for education, human services, public safety, veterans and faith based programs.  Geographic focus: Jackson & Josephine Counties, Oregon; Barry County, Missouri; and Cabell County, West Virginia.

The mission of the Foundation is to offer assistance in youth education, strengthening the home and family, youth programs, and in general to add to the quality of life for people in the community.  Geographic focus: Douglas, Coos, Lane, Deschutes, Klamath, Jackson and Josephine Counties.

The Gordon Elwood Foundation funds projects primarily for educational and human service purposes, with an emphasis on low-income/at-risk youth, individuals, families and communities.  Geographic focus: Jackson, Josephine, Klamath and Curry Counties.  Mission; Successful Citizens and Vital Rural Communities.

The Mission of The Ford Family Foundation is “Successful Citizens and Vital Rural Communities” in Oregon and Siskiyou County, California.  The Foundation principally operates two large Initiatives: the Ford Family Scholarship Program, benefiting urban and rural residents, and the Ford Institute for Community Building, which promotes individual leadership, organizational development and community collaborations. Our third philanthropic focus is a portfolio of pro-active and responsive grants. The most current guidelines that influence our responsive grant awards can be found on our web site. Pre-applications may be submitted on-line at any time of the year. From these the Foundation invites the most interesting and impactful proposals that predominantly benefit rural residents and are consistent with our Mission and guidelines. Pro-active investments are made in longer term, pilot programs, launched by the Foundation with Requests for Proposals (RFP’s), usually in collaboration with or operated by partner organizations. Current examples include parenting, rural connectivity (technology), visual arts, civic engagement, and rural health, which are in various stages of development or operation.

The Leightman Maxey Foundation’s mission is to provide educational experiences related to careers, finance and nutrition for individuals to encourage and enable them to be self-reliant, productive members of society.  Geographic focus: Southern Oregon, specifically Jackson, Josephine, Klamath and Curry Counties.

 To help those most in need who are less able to help themselves.  We are less concerned with making many grants than with making grants in response to the greatest need at any given time.  Geographic focus: tax exempt organizations in Jackson County whose programs enhance the well-being of economically disadvantaged and vulnerable people, emphasizing children, women, elders and minorities.

To invest in people, ideas and efforts that deliver significant social benefit to Oregon and southwest Washington.  Funds educational, health, arts and humanities, and social welfare grants, plus Small Grants and Teacher Initiatives Programs.  Geographic focus:  Oregon and Clark County, Washington (considered part of the Portland metropolitan area). 

The James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation  http://www.millerfound.org

Established to enhance the quality of life of Oregonians through support of the Arts and Education.  Primary interests in the arts include enhancing programming and audience building, financial capacity and stability development, and a limited number of capital campaign projects.  Education interests include strengthening or lifting the level of student achievement and success, and a limited number of capital projects that favorably impact student achievement. 

M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust  http://www.murdock-trust.org

The Trust’s mission is to enrich the quality of life in the Pacific Northwest by providing grants to organizations that seek to strengthen the region’s educational and cultural base in creative and sustainable ways.  Although major emphases are education and scientific research, grants are given to a wide variety of organizations, including those that serve the arts, public affairs, health and medicine, human services and people with disabilities.

Swigert Foundation is a 501(c)3 foundation started in 2002 by Darrell Swigert.  One of its goals is to help young men realize their dreams to play hockey. Darrell has loved Ice Hockey for as long as he can remember and plays today for a Men’s League in Boise.
